I started my career in healthcare in the Home Care industry. I worked my way up from Administrative Assistant to Scheduling Manager and Personnel Manager. There, I taught Direct Care Worker classes to adult students of all ages. I trained, mentored, and supervised a team of 100 caregivers. After that, I got my license as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant and began working in Oncology. When I began x-ray school, I transferred to a Medical Assistant position in Pediatric Urgent Care, also providing support to our Adult Urgent Care sites. Once I graduated from x-ray school, I began working in an outpatient imaging facility doing radiography and fluoroscopy. There, I continued to train and mentor students as well as new techs. After that, I worked as a radiographer for a busy orthopedic clinic where I learned special imaging techniques and positioning I had never heard of in school. I also began working PRN doing x-ray at a hospital outside of Phoenix, Arizona. There, I mentored and precepted for multiple radiography students. I decided to advance my radiology career into MRI and once I completed my MRI program, I began scanning for another outpatient imaging facility. There, I precepted for multiple MRI students (ARRT and ARMRIT) and mentored tech aids looking to get into imaging. I have a deep passion for radiology and for teaching.
